Instead of placing the burden on the environment, Chick-fil-A has instead invested in reusing the cups to create new things in their community. Used cups are collected each week and taken to a facility where they are cleaned, chopped into tiny bits, extruded, and coal-bonded into logs. The logs are then taken to a plastic recycling company, combined with other materials, and assembled into park benches—where the entire community benefits.
