Pioneering automotive engineer Henry Ford knew hemp could produce vast economic resources if widely cultivated. He recognized the possibilities of hemp as a manufacturing component and constructed a car of resin-stiffened hemp fiber that ran on ethanol made from hemp. Hemp is the ultimate sustainable manufacturing component and thought to be the first domestically cultivated plant. There is evidence of hemp fabric dating back 8,000 in Turkey (former-day Mesopotamia).
