Poppits Toothpaste Pods Reduce Tube Waste

Poppits Toothpaste Pods Reduce Tube Waste
Similar to dishwasher-soap and laundry-detergent pods, the single-dose pods made are made of cellulose and filled with toothpaste.

Poppits is designed to reduce the waste of toothpaste tubes by replacing them with individual-use pods that dissolve when exposed to water.

A new Kickstarter campaign is gathering funding for Poppits, a product designed to reduce the waste of toothpaste tubes by replacing them with individual-use pods that dissolve when exposed to water. (Traditional toothpaste tubes decompose over a span of approximately 500 years in landfills.) Similar to dishwasher-soap and laundry-detergent pods, the single-dose pods made are made of cellulose and filled with toothpaste. The pod is placed on the toothbrush and wetted before brushing.

They company has so far raised about $39,000 of their $50k goal on Kickstarter. Pledges of just $12 will get backers a pack of whitening pods; an anticipated ship date is October. A kids version will also be available in various colors and fruit flavors.
